The 2008 Craft Invitational Chainsaw Carving Contest was held May 23-May 25 this year and exceeded our expectations! Carvers, Assistants and families became our extended family and what great people they are! Returning to Seldovia for this year's contest:
Scott Hanson, Sandy Hanson, Steve Curtis have come all three years. This is Scott and Joan Thompson and Stephen Hopkinson and Mary Lu Williams second contest.
Newcomers this year were: Jimmy Kitchens, Carmen West, Derrick Stanton, Hans Iverson, Brandon Walker. Need to tell you all the carvers and their assistants and the site workers pushed through 40 hr gale winds the first day and rain the second day. However, the sun came out the last day and it was absolutely GREAT!
